January

January has been a good month for entertainment in Guernsey. Guernsey Zoo changed hands, Channel Television became part of ITV, Treasure Hunt and Doctor Who both came to Guernsey, and Guille and Alles opened their famed library in St Peter Port.

Several wrecks, including those of the MV Prosperity and Radiant Med, foundered on Guernsey's shores while, in the air, a Channel Express Airways plane crashed on its approach to the airport when its cargo shifted. Guernsey's last witch trial took place, work started on the Val des Terres road and the States discussed the option of building the current airport. Although the public mood was against it, the politicians went ahead with it nonetheless.
