February
Guernsey got its own flag in February. It was also when it conducted its last ever execution and, 300 years earlier, Queen Mary had suffered a similar fate while wearing Guernsey stockings. It was the month during which Aurigny was founded and Guernsey got its first ever postbox.
During the Occupation, a brave resister, the Salvation Army's Marie Ozanne, died following her arrest for preaching, and the last issue of the Guernsey Underground News Service (GUNS) was distributed - as the team behind it was betrayed to the Germans.
