April

In April, 14 Guernsey residents died on the Titanic's maiden voyage. Guernsey passengers staged a sit-in on the Sealink ferry Earl Godwin, and Condor 1, the first of Condor's fast hydrofoils, underwent its sea trials in very rough conditions.

A plane hit a car when it was landing at Guernsey Airport, and Guernsey's oldest resident died, aged 110. The new terminal building was opened in this month, and an Aurigny Trislander pilot saw an enormous UFO over Alderney while flying in from the mainland.
